What I've Learned This Year

I really enjoyed reading this blog, it gave different things to look at when I become a teacher. All the points made, were great points and were backed up with great explanation. I think the most important point that was made was communication. If there is no communication, there will be no teaching or learning going on. We need to encourage our students to do their best and always do what we can to help them.

Some teachers go in to teaching for the wrong reason, we are there to teach and because we care for the children and education. We shouldn't worry if we are the "cool" teacher or not. We should do whatever it takes to have an educated student.

  1. Hi Caryn!
I agree with your thoughts about Mr. McClung's post. Communication is very important and will help up get through different situations as teachers. Communication allows us to work with parents to help with a child and find out way to maybe encourage or motivate them if they're not doing so well, or to praise the child for a job well done. We also need to communicate and work with other teachers to educate the students. If all the teachers can be on the same page, or close to it, the school can run smoothly.

  2. Hey Caryn,
Although, I believe that communication is very important, I believe that teachers should continue to learn new and exciting things. Without the teachers being up to date, the students will indeed surpass the teachers.
    Good post, Leslie

  3. Learning never ends. You have started on a long trail. Keep at it.

Mr. McClung's self-reflection is an excellent model of what I hope EDM310 students will do - while in class and throughout their career.
